- Notation used in all of the help files:
- - "[F]oo" means to hit the F key; the system will echo "oo".
- - ".F(oo)" means to enter a period (".") and "F"; the system will echo "oo".

- "[L]ogin" logs you into the system. (You must do this.)

- "[T]erminate" logs you off the system normally.

- To read messages, use:
- "[N]ew" to read new messages in this room.
- "[O]ld" to read old messages in reverse.
- "[F]orward" to read all messages from oldest to newest.
- "[R]everse" to read all messages from newest to oldest.

- While reading messages:
- "[P]ause" stops message display until another key is pressed.
- "[J]ump" immediately skips to the next paragraph.
- "[N]ext" immediately skips to the next message.
- "[S]top" halts message display.

- To enter a message in a room:
- "[E]nter" will start the message editor.

- To leave a private message to another user:
- ".G(oto) MAIL" will take you to the e-mail room.
- "[E]nter" will let you send a message to the user you specify.

- To find more new messages:
- "[G]oto" will take you to the next room with NEW messages.

- "[?]" shows the main menu. IT ALSO LISTS ALL AVAILABLE OPTIONS AT ANY TIME.

- "[.]" prefixes extended commands.
- "[;]" prefixes floor commands.
- "[!]" prefixes door commands.
